Burgers. One of my favourite past time meals! I remember when I was young, growing up on fast food and frozen lasagnas, I couldn’t wait for my double cheeseburger at McDonald’s… Gross right? Oh how we mature. My boyfriend cooked these bison burgers up (I heard him say they were overdone under his breath, then denied it later) and regardless they were delicious!
The salad is just spinach, peppers, cucumber, tomato, and red and green onion. The bf topped his burger with Kraft cheese slices (classic) and I stuck to a few crumbles of goat cheese 🙂 I usually don’t have dairy but I’m a sucker for goat cheese! Paired this light dish with a gamay noir from Mt. Boucherie, a local vineyard in Kelowna. Great valued wine, served chill, and has a slight hint of espresso. By far my favourite wine, normally 17 bucks a bottle but we bought a few cases priced at 10 bucks a bottle #win.
Needless to say this day finished exactly as I had in mind. I worked a night shift last night, and boy was it hard to sleep it off this morning. My condo was testing the fire alarm system so my attempt at sleeping was cut short, and I found myself at the gym bright and early. After a back workout and cardio, I picked up some tomato plants (San marzano, Roma, and thumbler), planted them, and spent the day drinking tea, reading, and some housework. Up to 36 degrees Celsius in Kelowna today, and I planned on staying indoors. We have company coming up for the weekend and they’re adamant on touring the vineyards (not mad about it). So I know I’ll be getting plenty of sunshine and vitamin D this weekend, 39 degrees tomorrow! ☀️ Off to enjoy a vino and finish my book on the patio,
